In an effort to demonstrate FSTPs with different technology options and capacities for adoption and scale-up in Tamil Nadu, an FSTP of 25 KLD (kilo litres per day) capacity was constructed to cater to the needs of the two town panchayats, Periyanaicken-Palayam (PNP) and Narasimhanaicken-Palayam (NNP). The FSTP is located within the resource recovery park (RRP) of PNP. It uses a mechanical dewatering system demonstrating mechanised FSTP technology that can operate under any weather with minimal skilled labour.
