Tamil Nadu has been a pioneer in Menstrual Health Management (MHM) and has introduced measures to systematically overcome the lack of awareness about MHM and ensure access to safe menstrual practices. To sustain and improve these efforts TNUSSP has been working with stakeholders and communities on menstrual health management in our cities.
On #MHDay2020 aligning to global MHM day initiatives, Red Thiruvizha campaign #PeriodTalkFest was run on TNUSSP’s social media handles. The aim of this campaign was to break the silence, move beyond taboos, promote informed choice, seek combined solutions for safe disposal and ensure menstrual health knowledge for all.

As a part of this Red Thiruvizha campaign, TNUSSP hosted a webinar on ‘Building an enabling environment for MHM in Tamil Nadu’. This Webinar served as a learning platform for understanding the experiences on Menstrual health management in Tamil Nadu, from professionals working in various parts of the MHM value chain. #PeriodTalkFest
