Dr. I. Ambalavanan

Dr. I. Ambalavanan Project Director at PDI, leads the ‘Sanitation Workers Support Programme’. A student of sociology, he has a PhD in Human Development and has over 25 years of experience, in various areas including Development and Grants Management, Organisational Development and Capacity Building, Strategic Planning and Facilitation, and Policy Development and Advocacy.

Asilinreena I.

Asilinreena is a Community Development Worker at PDI. She completed her Masters in Social Work. A passionate community organiser, she works with the IIHS-CWIS team in planning & execution of the project activities.

Jackuline Rani

Jackuline Rani is a Community Development Worker (CDW) at PDI. She along with the IIHS-CWIS team regularly visit the sanitation workers habitations and assists in livelihood training for them.

S. Karthikeyani

Karthikeyani is a Community Development worker at PDI. A B.Sc. (Chemistry) graduate, she was part of the PDI-IIHS study team which facilitated Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), Participatory rural appraisal (PRA) and social mapping. She coordinates with Youth for Sanitation (YS) clubs in each habitation and helps them in organising monthly meetings for resolving various issues.

M. Kannan

Kannan, Programme Officer for the Sanitation Workers Support Programme at PDI, has over 18 years of experience in the development sector. He works with the TNUSSP-CWIS team in approaching and collaborating with THADCO, Tamilnadu Slum Clearance Board, Child Line, District Social Welfare Office, and the City Corporation of Tiruchirapalli for various interventions benefitting the sanitation workers.

C. Sevanthi

Sevanthi is a Community Development Worker at PDI. She works with the IIHS CWIS team in facilitating and initiating individual dialogues with the sanitation workers and their families to aid them in accessing government services and welfare measures.

Sathya A.

Sathya is a Community Development Worker at PDI. She is a B.A., Tamil graduate. She works with the TNUSSP-CWIS team to sensitize the sanitation workers on their own development. During her leisure time, Sathya watches movies and TV series.

M. Uma

Uma works as a Counsellor at PDI. She completed her post-graduation in M.A. Social Work and has over 13 years of professional experience in counselling. She works with the IIHS-CWIS team in interacting with sanitation workers, identifying the individuals with issues, and provide counselling services.
