TNUSSP functions through a technical support unit (TSU) set up with support from by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF). Led by the Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS), a national education institution committed to the equitable, sustainable, and efficient transformation of Indian settlements, this TSU is run along with Keystone Foundation, CDD Society, Gramalaya, People’s Development Initiatives (PDI), YUGAA, Bharathidasan University Tiruchirappalli, Hasiru Dala, Hand in Hand Inclusive Development and Services (HHIDS) as partners.

People’s Development Initiatives (PDI) has been implementing ‘Sanitation Workers Support Programme’ in select twenty-three habitations of the sanitation workers in the city of Tiruchirapalli, with the support of Indian Institute of Human Settlements under the Tiruchy CWIS project

Hasiru Dala, which means Green Force, is a social impact organisation that works with waste pickers and other waste workers to ensure a life with dignity. IIHS partnered with Hasiru Dala to help sanitation workers in Coimbatore and Trichy to gain financial inclusion by identifying and applying for different government schemes available to all poor of the state.

HIH is supporting TNUSSP in developing and sustaining Karunguzhi as a Key Resource Centre (KRC) for demonstrating Fecal Sludge Management (FSM) in the state of Tamil Nadu.

TIDE Technocrats supported TNUSSP in the implementation of the Fecal Sludge Treatment Plant in Periyanaicken-Palayam (PNP) Town Panchayat and assists in the operational maintenance of the plant.

Enlit is a construction firm based out of Chennai with operations in several other states. Enlit supports TNUSSP in delivering Quality Assurance (QA) support for the construction of Fecal Sludge Treatment Plants (FSTPs) in Tamil Nadu.

SuSanA is an informal network of people and organisations who share a common vision on sustainable sanitation and who want to contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDG6. SuSanA came into existence in early 2007. Since then, it has been providing a platform for coordination and collaborative work.
