IIHS conducted an FSM training session titled “Fecal Sludge Management: Strategy and Urban-Rural Convergence” in Maraimalai Nagar, Chengalpattu, on 02 August 2024. This training was part of a State-level Training Programme on SBM-G held from 01 August to 03 August.

Capacity Building of various stakeholders of SBM-G is key to sustaining ODF status and ensuring effective management of solid and liquid waste to make villages ODF Plus. To implement this, an action plan was prepared in the Annual Implementation Plan 2024-25 to target training for trainers at the State and District levels.

This FSM training session was a part of the action plan and was led by the IIHS-TNUSSP Senior Specialist, Sasikumar Easwaramurthy.

A total of 45 district coordinators, and resource persons from SIRD (State Institute of Rural Development), RIRD and PR (Regional Institute of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj) attended this training.
