City Consultations by TNUSSP in Three Demonstration Cities In the endeavour to enhance inclusive sanitation practices across Tamil Nadu, the IIHS-led Tamil Nadu Urban Sanitation Support Programme (TNUSSP) Technical Support Unit (TSU) organised a multistakeholder workshop in November 2023 at the State Level.

Following that workshop, the TSU is conducting a series of consultations with key stakeholders, including Urban Local Body (ULB) officers, elected representatives, Residential Welfare Associations (RWAs), academic institutions, and civil societies, in three selected demonstration cities: Pudukottai, Maraimalai Nagar Municipality, and Vallam Town Panchayat.

The consultations held with the first two municipalities have yielded valuable insights, aiding in the formulation of strategic options within the City Wide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) framework. Progress is underway in developing subsequent action plans in collaboration with the respective ULB officers. The consultation session in Vallam Town Panchayat is scheduled to take place shortly.
